Use of L5 data in CME propagation models

  • Project Description: The proposed activity is aimed at addressing, using a systematic and quantitative methodology, the anticipated improvements in the space weather forecasting of Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) arrivals at Earth, together with the arrival of other solar wind features and Solar Energetic Particles (SEPs), resulting from multi-point remote-sensing and in-situ observations. In particular, it addresses the benefits that should result from the types of observation that are proposed for the ESA Lagrange (LGR) L5 mission. The international consortium is led by RAL space (contact Chris Perry).
