Revisiting CME parameters observed by Metis on Solar Orbiter (FWF)

  • Run-Time: 2026-2029
  • Project Motivation: The proposed project aims to improve our understanding of the evolution of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in the middle corona by addressing two main research topics. The first is the investigation of the overall morphology and physical properties of CMEs, particularly the distribution of density and mass, based on visual-light brightness and polarization data during Solar Cycle 25. The second is a detailed analysis of specific case studies, focusing on the evolution of substructures such as the core, cavity, and leading edge, and the tracking of cool prominence material through the extended corona.
